How does custom music play in the Sims 3?

I put high school musical songs in the Custom Music folder. How do I get it to play in the game? Step by step instructions would be nice…

They must be mp3 format. You put them in the correct folder.

When you get a stereo in the game, choose the Custom station, and your music will be a part of it. There are a few other “custom” songs on that station, I believe (I’m rather certain I heard music I didn’t put in there!), but your music will be there, too.
