My cats spaying stitches..?
We took my cat to be spayed about seven months ago, she still has the stitches. I remember I had asked the people at the shelter (Spayed at the shelter) if she needed a return visit to take he stitches out and they said as long as they didn’t come out, she wouldn’t need to come back so I pushed it out of my mind after she healed.
On friday my cat was sleeping on her back and I saw green so I looked. I can’t believe I’d forgotten she had the stitches still! I want to know if it’s bad that she has the stitches still (No puffy-ness and I can touch her tummy fine) and if I should get them out. (Green stitches, nylon, maybe plastic? I dunno)
I am not sure, but i thinkk they are supposed to be removed. There are stitches that fall out on their own, but I am more than sure it would be a lot faster than 7 monthes… probably more like 2 weeks or 1 month at the most.
I would get them removed only because if she get itchy down there for some other reason she might start trying to rip them out herself…
